Wolf Instant has been designed as a natural extension of the Wolf Coffee Roasters brand, translating its specialty coffee credentials into a more portable, immediate format.
Grounded in Wolf’s Arrowtown origins and community-led point of view, the pack reinterprets instant coffee not as a compromise, but as a premium ritual for people who want quality, character and ease in equal measure.

The strategic goal was to preserve what makes Wolf distinctive while opening the brand up to new moments of consumption.
Wolf’s brand world is built around locality, conversation and craft, with a product offer spanning house blends, single origins, subscriptions and wholesale support.
This packaging takes those existing equities and reshapes them for a format that feels contemporary, flexible and commercially scalable.

Visually, the design balances rugged energy with refined simplicity.
The deep navy base gives the product weight, confidence and shelf presence, while the warm cream typography introduces softness and approachability. The red graphic accent injects movement and memorability, creating a visual spark that brings the pack to life.
Together, these elements build a world that feels adventurous, premium and unmistakably Wolf.

The circular badge and wolf iconography are central to the brand expression.
They work as a stamp of origin and belonging, reinforcing the idea of the pack, the local community and the brand’s roots in Arrowtown.
This is especially important for Wolf, whose footprint extends across Arrowtown, Queenstown and Wanaka, and whose identity already lives beyond the roastery itself.

The oversized ‘Instant’ script plays an important role in softening the system and broadening appeal.
It introduces a more fluid, expressive layer over the bold, structured Wolf wordmark, allowing the packaging to sit comfortably between specialty credibility and everyday accessibility.
This contrast helps the product feel premium without becoming precious, and practical without losing brand character.

The fire illustration represents warmth, gathering and shared ritual. It draws on the primal idea of people coming together around a flame, using coffee as a modern expression of that same instinct, to pause, connect and feel part of something.
Within the Wolf Instant identity, fire becomes a symbol of togetherness and the social energy that coffee creates.

The spark illustration represents ignition, momentum and conversation. It captures the moment something begins, the first sip, the first thought, the first exchange, positioning coffee as the catalyst that sparks connection, ideas and interaction. In the Wolf brand world, the spark is a small but powerful symbol of coffee’s ability to start the day, start a mood and start a conversation.

It suggests a coffee experience that feels closer to the land, less processed, more honest, and more in tune with contemporary values around simplicity and mindful consumption. Grounded in Arrowtown and the wider southern landscape, it gives the pack a sense of origin, freedom and adventure, while positioning Wolf Instant as coffee made for movement, wherever the day takes you.

Join the Pack brings the brand’s community dimension to life. It reframes the product as more than an individual coffee moment, inviting people into a shared culture built around connection, ritual and belonging. In this context, the pack becomes a symbol of inclusion, turning Wolf from a roastery into a community people can identify with and be part of.
